Company History

Like so many businesses before us, HyTech Spring and Machine Corporation started in a small, rundown garage in a rural area of Kalamazoo. In 1984 it boasted two employees (the owners), one CNC spring machine (employing the newest technology available) and one stress relieving oven. Today, scores of state-of-the-art equipment occupy the 125,000 sq ft manufacturing area. Of the 92 present employees, the first 7 employees hired over twenty-six years ago are still with the company. The company quickly outgrew its humble beginnings and it doubled in size every year for the next fourteen years. During that time it has earned the respect of its customers as well as competitors.

HyTech has been recognized by various organizations for its accomplishments. We were among the top 100 Fastest-Growing Privately-Owned Companies in Michigan (1991, 1992, 1995); a feat matched by only a handful of manufacturers.

HyTech Spring and Machine Corporation has been recognized several times as an outstanding business of Allegan County and it has received numerous awards for delivering product with zero defects and for an outstanding safety record and for participation and involvement with the community.

From its inception, HyTech has filled the niche for small, complicated springs with extremely close tolerances, manufactured from a variety of exotic materials. Providing technical assistance when needed, HyTech prides itself on manufacturing top-notch product – product of consistent quality, delivered on time, while maintaining competitive prices.

With a base of over 200 active customers highly diversified in numerous markets, HyTech has continued to grow through several market downturns. Over the years, HyTech remained financially strong while providing a safe and secure place of employment. Through scholarships, co-op programs and on-the-job training, HyTech continues to secure the workforce of tomorrow. That’s a record that makes us proud.

By constantly upgrading our equipment to take advantage of the newest technologies available, HyTech delivers a superior product manufactured in the USA while providing jobs and a pleasant working environment.
